538900 Jack of Diamonds Savory  85

Glaucous blue-gray, nicely textured leaves with a wide yellow margin. A sieboldiana hybrid, but considerably Smaller than ‘Elegans’, ‘Francis Williams’, etc. In fact, I assumed this was a tokudama when I first saw it, since it looks like a reversed ‘Bright Lights’. White flowers.

A BRIDGEWOOD GARDENS INTRODUCTION
539600  Judy Blue Eyes
  Bridgewood Gardens NR
This is not really a new hosta, we sold it at the old garden center for years. But this is the first time we’ve offered it in the catalog.  A tardiana hybrid with small blue leaves with an undulating (not piecrusted) edge.  It is not variegated, but it has a tiny, hair-line white edge around the leaves,  caused, I think, by the wax at the edge of the leaf. Lavender flowers.

539800 June NEO Plants 1991
This is the gold centered form of ‘Halcyon’. The leaves are a rich, powdery gold, with a narrow blue edge. The color is best in fairly bright light, tending to a muted yellow-green in deep shade. Flowers are pale lavender. I doubt that too many would disagree that this is one of the greatest hostas ever introduced.

MEDIUM

539900 June Fever J. van den Top 2004
A new sport of 'June', with shiny, rather than glaucus leaves. Like 'June' the color of the leaves will vary with the light level, from chartreuse in low light to bright banana yellow with some morning sun.  The leaves have a narrow, dark green margin.  While it comes from 'June', there is little resemblance.  The color is unusual and very striking.  Pale lavender flowers.

540300 Kabitan  Maekawa  1987
Some people have had difficulties growing this one, especially in England, probably because it needs more sun than many Hostas. On the other hand, too much sun will bleach the color from the leaf, but if you get it right, ‘Kabitan’ can be spectacular, especially in mass. It’s a small plant that tends to hug the ground, with long, narrow, wavy-edged leaves, bright yellow to yellow green, with a narrow green edge. Flowers are purple striped. The plant is stoloniferous, so it spreads and does not form a tight mound. Lavender flowers.

541000 Kifukurin Hyuga ?  NR
Formerly listed as kukutii 'Kifukurin Hyuga', it is now thought to be a hybrid of mixed parentage, but it shows its kikutii lineage in the narrow, pointed, nicely veined foliage and its late flowering period. The leaves are shiny, deep green with a yellow to cream margin. Lavender flowers in the fall, after most hostas have finished blooming. Formerly listed as k. Kifukurin.

540600 Kifukurin Ko Mame Japan NR
We received this plant labeled kikutii 'Ko Mame' and listed it under that name last year.  We have since found that this is the correct name for the plant. According to George Schmid the name translates to "gold-margined, very small hosta". It has been listed as a sport of H. gracillima, but I don't know if it is or not. It forms a very small mound of shiny green leaves with a wavy, creamy white margin.  Very cute.
