Shipping Schedule

If you find your location on the map below, the number indicates the week we start shipping to your area in the spring, shown on the chart below the map.

For orders placed before April 1st

If you place your order before our spring shipping begins we generally try to ship according to this schedule. The week numbers refer to the numbers on the map.

Please don't look for any logic in our scheduling. You can see from the map above the difficulty in guessing when it's going to be safe to plant. We had to keep it fairly simple. If you would like your plants shipped at a different time, request a different date here.

These dates are not promises. Our plants are grown outside, not in warehouses, so thunderstorms, blizzards, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions can upset the schedule. Or maybe someone just gets sick.

95% of our orders are shipped on time, but some are not. If there is a delay on your order of more than one week, we will contact you.

States shaded pink are shipped bare-root by UPS 3-day service.

Areas marked with an "X" will find it difficult or impossi-ble to grow hostas as a long lived perennial.

Orders placed after April 1st

If you order after we start shipping to your area, we generally try to ship as soon as possible. If we receive your order early enough in the week for the plants to reach you by Friday, we will often ship that week. Otherwise we generally ship the following week. Our busiest shipping period is April and May, so we may not be able to ship immediately at that time. Obviously, people who order early will take priority.
