The appearance of a hosta depends very much on its age, where it is planted, and the time of year. Color, leaf shape and size, variegation, and other characteristics may differ significantly under different conditions. In addition, color rendition in photographs can vary greatly.

Hosta 'Purple Rain'

We don't like to post pictures of young plants, but there is only one mature plant of 'Purple Rain' and it was damaged by a late freeze before we got a good picture. We hope to have a better one this coming summer.
